I'm drifting through the halls with the sunrise [open]
Who| Adella and YOU
What| Week 2 catch-all
Where| the Forests and the Mountain areas
When| throughout the second week
Warnings/Notes| Adella is going to be less inclined to try to talk first and ask questions, so anyone she doesn't know out the gate she might wave a pointed stick at first. Also if you want any specific timeframe w/e feel free to note it I'm going for bendytime here.
First line of Defense- Forest
A week out on her own and Adella is keeping herself busy. She tries to cover as much ground as she thinks is safe in a day, though she splits her time between the forest and the mountains. If her friends are nearby, she imagines they'd gravitate much to the same areas.
The woods are a familiar place to her, now. She's long since found a long, sturdy branch that had once belonged to a tree but is now her makeshift staff. She spends her mornings and afternoons in the forest looking for food, collecting water, and searching for signs of others. She's careful if she thinks she sees someone she isn't friendly with, keeping out of sight rather than running up to say hello. She's warier than she used to be.
She only comes out every other day, but takes some time to sit a little ways into the forest off the water's shore with a small fire built, boiling water or cooking anything she's managed to kill over a small fire with her new pot, a gift from the sponsors. She doesn't dare build a fire back where she's been camping, but here she can see anyone coming, and react accordingly. She passes time working on her staff. It's an entirely blunt instrument here, but there's still something soothing about carving designs and the runes for enchantments into the wood with her small knife. It's better than sitting and jumping at every small noise, at least. Not that she doesn't still do that as well.
Unsafe Haven - Mythical "villages"
Adella isn't comfortable camping out in the open so when she discovered the array of oddly matched houses with castles in the distance, she made a point to loosely assign this area her home base. She still doesn't sleep much, and moves to a different house each night, sleeping in the room most far removed from the entrance. She moves things in front of the doors and windows, trying to make an early-warning system in the event that someone stumbles into the same place she's sleeping.
When she isn't sleeping in the villages she's walking the perimeter, trying to see if she can spot anyone else. She keeps her staff, now with a long knife fitted into one end, at the ready, prepared to fight if she has to. She's not dying before she finds her loved ones, not this time.
Visiting Dignitaries - Arendelle Castle
When she isn't hiding in the village or in the forests, Adella's found new places to explore. The castle sitting upon the shore of the water is the most interesting to her, the others being far enough up in the mountains she doesn't want to head up alone. She isn't taking her chances with any of the dragons flying overhead. At least not alone.
The castle on the shores however offers her an opportunity to explore, poke around, as well as trying to find the highest vantage point to look out for other tributes. She spends a few nights here, as well, hoping that someone friendly will come upon her. It reminds her a little of Skyhold, although after the keep underwent some serious renovation. Some it still hadn't seen, since the last time she was there. She feels more comfortable in the castle than she has anywhere else in the Arena, at least. Still, she's never without her staff, because she knows she can't be the only one who would see a castle and think potential vantage point.

village!
He only knows they must still be alive because he has yet to see their faces among the daily dead.
Cullen is no scout - he's not really trained in stealth, or reconnaissance, but one does what one must, when circumstances force it. So he moves about as quietly as he can, trying to find a dry, defensible hut to stay the night in. A flash of something in a dark window catches his attention, and that's when he drops all pretense of hiding - he's a warrior, he'd much rather face a foe head-on than skulk about in the shadows.
"I know you're there," he calls. "Show yourself."
no subject
"Cullen?"
no subject
"Adella!" He relaxes a little, and clambers around to where she is. "Maker's breath, I thought I'd never find you! Are you all right?"
no subject
"I am now."
no subject
"Have you been on your own, this whole time?" he asks after a while.
no subject
"Mostly. I've spent some time with your friend Éowyn, but I haven't wanted to stay in one place for too long." they had a poor track record of camps ending up horrible messes when they didn't stay in motion.

It's just different, here. Back home, they did what they had to do, and much as he worried for her, he knew she had a duty, and that she could take care of herself, that the others would look after her no matter how dangerous things got. Here, though, it all seems so unnecessary, and futile.
"Is it just me, or does this seem to be the biggest arena yet?" he asks quietly.
Forest
It was a calculated risk. He knew someone in was the area; he'd seen the remains of a fire, had even quick enough after them one evening to find the embers still warm. It might have been someone he didn't want to meet... but it might also have been someone he did.
So he'd set a few traps and made a point to visit more often.

She stopped a little ways away from the noise, crouching down in some low bushes and looking around, trying to determine whether or not she was alone. Granted, she wouldn't steal someone else's kill, she'd been getting by herself. She just wanted to know who else was hanging around in the forest.

The mysterious other tribute - he hoped, uncertain if the Capitol would create a beast capable of such a thing - was in the area.
He slowed his pace and carefully circled around to approach along the bank where they could see each other. Hopefully such good will would discourage a fight.
Pointedly, he walked near the water, splashing a little as he neared.
"Hello?" he called. "I smelled the smoke. I mean no harm--" He broke off, stopped short, unable to believe his luck. "Adella?"
no subject
Her question was answered, of course, when Maxwell came into view. A relieved smile broke across her face and without thinking about it she stood, running to embrace the other Trevelyan.
"Maxwell! Andraste's glorious ass it's good to see you."
no subject
"I hoped it was one of you. I've been looking ever since--" He pulled back to look at her, eyes moving quickly, checking that she was alright. "Are you okay? Have you found Cullen, or Tabris and Bayard?"
no subject
"I found Cullen. He's in the village. I haven't seen the others, though. They must still live, but..." living doesn't always mean safe.
no subject
"Hopefully they're together, at least," he said, giving her shoulders a squeeze. It was a small comfort, but a comfort. "Tabris would take on a dragon with her bare hands before she'd let anything happen to Bayard."
no subject
"That's very true, and hopefully not something that will be necessary." Turning to glance at the trap in the woods, she tilts her head. "So I'm guessing these traps are yours? I thought they looked familiar."
no subject
It could have ended badly, but it had been worth the risk.
"Have I gotten anything?" he asked, smile widening into a grin.
