Arena start, day one.]
It's a test of her control from the very start. How she manages to get into the station is anyone's guess, especially without getting hurt, but somehow she does. Immediately she feels her powers start up, the temperature around her growing colder. Ice doesn't form yet, but as it happens every time they return to her, the initial fear grips hard and she has to take in several deep breaths and remind herself of all the techniques she has to keep them under control.
Elsa doesn't hang around, either. Once she strips out of the spacesuit to the outfit underneath, she's running, leaving the cumbersome suit behind to wherever he feet can carry her. This is unlike anything she's experienced before, and it's hard to remain calm as with each twist and turn she just feels even more lost and vulnerable.
Finally, after reaching a distance that feels reasonably away from the entrance, Elsa presses her back against the wall, her chest heaving from running so fast. The air is chilly still, there's a light wind around her, but so far there's no ice. That is, not until she consciously decides to create some.
And she does. With a deep breath, she presses her palms flat against the wall behind her, and ice spreads out from it, few good feet out and down along the floor. Quickly enough, a wall of ice rises up on either side of her, closing off the hallway to her left and right and enclosing her in a protective barrier of ice that no one can get through on either side. It also means she can't immediately get out, but she can melt the ice if she needs to. All that matters is that for now, she has a moment to get herself together.
Anyone approaching might be confused to realize they're blocked by the walls of ice, but that's too bad for them.
[B.
Sometime in the near future, still within week one.]
Elsa manages to get herself together, eventually. When she walks, there's no longer a literal air of coldness to her, the floor doesn't crack with ice spreading under her feet. She keeps herself grounded and in control through all the practice she's had in the months she's been here. It's hard sometimes, but her vow to not hurt anyone is what keeps her strong and courageous.
But again, that's tested when she ends up running into the aliens. At first, she thinks they might not be out to kill her- but that idea is quickly shattered as they come at her. It gets her heart pounding and she quickly starts backing up as three of them advance on her. Elsa doesn't like using her powers on living creatures- heck, she hasn't ever had a need to, it's only ever happened accidentally. But right now, her life is in danger and she doesn't have a choice and she knows that.
So before she can really think much about it, she thrusts her hands forward and a blast of frigid air shoots from her hands and a moment later, the aliens are frozen solid, no longer advancing on her. She's breathing heavily, her mouth hanging open a little. For the first time in her life, she's used her powers to harm something. It doesn't feel particularly good, either.
But on the other hand, it feels... empowering, which isn't a feeling she ever thought she would have when it came to using her powers like this. Suddenly, she isn't quite so defenseless. Suddenly she stands a chance. She can't help but let out a laugh, even if it's shaky. If anyone happens upon her, they'll probably find her walking around the aliens, surveying them and wondering what she ought to do with them now.
[C.
Sometime fairly soon after freezing the aliens.]
With how empowered she feels at having gone on the offense, Elsa is ready to continue in that same direction. There's a thought that she's been toying with in the back of her mind ever since she gained control of her powers, and now that she's in a better frame of mind for it, she's ready to do a little experimentation.
So, she gives a twirl of her hand and snow begins forming around her hand, becoming a flurry in front of her that slowly starts to form into a shape. It grows and growns, until it's about her height- it's clear that it's a snowman. Sharp icicles shoot out from it's body in random places, and it's face is a bit lifeless looking, but that's about all she's willing to do for it under the current circumstances. It stands there lifeless for a moment, before it starts moving.
It resembles a human-sized version of marshmallow, and Elsa is pretty pleased with the fact that she'd managed to create another sentient snowman. Now, hopefully it can do her dirty work and she won't have to directly do much damage. It's still amazing to her what she's capable of, how it works she doesn't even know- but that doesn't matter.
"You'll protect me, right?" she asks, and the snowman gives a nod. "Good- thank you." In a way, it almost feels wrong using it as a pawn like this, but... well, what choice does she have? "Shall we go?" Without waiting for a reply, Elsa sets off, the snowman trailing just behind her. Even if she feels guilty, the confidence she's feeling is overpowering that. For once, she feels completely and utterly in control, that's rare and she isn't going to pass it up for anything right now.

Sorry I'm late! Let's go with part C
The shout comes from somewhere further down the hall and the owner of said voice becomes clear as she crashes around the corner.
Ruffnut is looking like a hot mess at the moment, one of her arms missing from the elbow up and wrapped in what appears to be a torn and bloody banner. The other arm is shoving herself off the wall she had bounced against as she scrambles to keep moving. Bouncing on her back are a pair of heavy looking metal orbs that she's tied to herself using thick wires probably ripped out of some machine.
She isn't even looking at Elsa or the new snow creature as she casts a frightened look over her shoulder at three purple monsters that are trotting after her.
They look like sheep...except each one has ten shiny black eyes and some kind of hideous disgusting growths on their spindly legs. When they bleated after Ruffnut it revealed sharp teeth in their mouths.
Ruffnut was so focused on the Sheep she was charging right towards Elsa and Marshmallow Jr.
no subject
"Go!" she says without even thinking, looking towards her snowman. The ice spikes jutting out grow larger and sharper and it runs forward, throwing itself between Ruffnut and the creatures. "Get behind me!" she says towards Ruffnut, holding her hands out, palms extended towards the creatures in case one manages to get past Marshmallow.
no subject
But then it charges past her towards the aliens and there's Elsa looking all important and powerful again just like back in the creepy city arena where they met.
"Don't need to tell me twice." She pants scrambling behind the ice queen.
The aliens show no fear as they scurry at Marshmallow and try to rip into him with their teeth and sharp legs. The three of them spring from the ground to attack Marshmallow's upper body.
no subject
Elsa cringes at the mess left behind, but tries not to let it bother her too much as she takes a step toward Marshmallow, standing victorious with only a few "injuries" to show for it. "Thank you," she says, giving him a large smile. She waves a hand, a small flow of ice leaving it to wash over Snowflake, healing his injuries with fresh snow and ice. Once that's done, she turns back to Ruffnut.
"Are you alright?" she asks, taking a moment to look the younger woman up and down. "They were vicious, weren't they?"
no subject
“I…yeah I mean…wow.” She stumbled over her words eyes shifting between Elsa and her creation.
“How…is that thing moving?” She asked slowly like she might offend the snow beast with her question. One of the orbs blinked it’s blue optical sensor and squinted as it came into sight from under one of Ruffnut’s armpits. The other orb was still pointed behind her. Surprisingly the blue lit orb spoke with the voice of former tribute Hiccup.
“How did you tame it? Ruff tried to tame one of the monsters here and it ate her arm.” “O-only half my arm!” Ruffnut protested sounding embarrassed.
no subject
But then another voice enters the fray, and Elsa looks rightly startled. "Er..." Technology, she supposed. That's really the only thing that could explain it. Elsa tries not to look too put out as she moves closer to Marshmallow, focusing on him instead. "I'm honestly not sure how it works...magic, I suppose? But if I make a snowman with my powers, I can bring it to life if I want. So it's not a matter of taming it, it just... happens."
no subject
A crooked grin slid into place as she recovered from the shock. "I thought the Ice castle was the coolest thing you've done but this is even better! I wish I could make monsters just appear!" However the entire island of Berk was probably grateful neither she nor her brother had ever developed magical powers.
"Explosions would still be the coolest power to have but your snow stuff is totally awesome."

"Control can be over rated. Sometimes it feels good to let it all hang out." she argued offering an encouraging smile. "I bet you feel MUCH better when you get to use your powers instead of having to hold back and pretend you're boring like the rest of us."
no subject
no subject
"I guess if they'll be OK and heal it's fine but I'm not trying to kill them." She tried to explain. "Pain is a good thing. It teaches you stuff, lets you know you're still alive. If you don't get hurt then you don't know how to appreciate it when you feel good."
These were the ways that a viking thought of things, or at least this viking and her brother.
"And sometimes it can be really funny. Like if someone you don't like falls on his face."
1
She slinks around a corner and the temperature drops.
Anna shivers, limping forward, but pauses when she sees--
"Ice?" She lets out a breath of excitement, hastening forward, following the creeping trail of ice that's all too familiar, and only stops when she spies the hallway ahead blocked off by a wall of ice. Anna's heart leaps. If Elsa has her powers back...
"Elsa! Are you in there? Elsa?"
no subject
"Anna!" she says, moving over to the ice wall and pressing her hands against it. "I am! It's me!" she says. Even though she's extremely afraid of hurting Anna, she also knows that her sister is probably far safer with her than anywhere else. So it's reluctantly that she moves away from the wall, holding up her hands.
With a deep breath, she says, "Stand back, I'm... I'm going to try and melt it." She's more used to creating it rather than melting it, so she isn't sure if it's going to work particularly well- but with Anna right there, it seems like it shouldn't be too difficult. Her heart is beating a little fast with nerves, but she closes her eyes and sets to work- it's slow process, but a space big enough for Anna to get through starts to melt out of the ice wall.
no subject
"I'm so glad I found you," she murmurs, going a little limp from the effort of walking so long.
no subject
She stops, because looking down at Anna, she realizes that her sister is injured. Elsa goes cold- literally, Anna can feel her sister's temperature drop with the way they're hugging. "What happened?" she asks, taking Anna by the shoulders so that she can look her up and down properly. "Who did this to you?" There's an edge to her voice, and she's already angry at herself for not having been there to stop this from happening.
no subject
"I-it was Black Tom," she admits, avoiding Elsa's gaze; she doesn't want to see whatever anger or pain her words bring to her sister's eyes. "He caught me as I was going for a cube in the Cornucopia, and he cut my leg open with a-a shiv. And then he just left me there." She shivers a little, remembering how sure she was that she'd die out there, in space.
no subject
But she doesn't say anything, once more bottling her emotions up. Anna needs support, not anger. Elsa's temperature slowly returns to normal, or as normal as can be when they're surrounded by ice. "And someone helped you to safety?" she asks, and as she does so, she gives her hand a small twirl and an ice chair rises out of the ground. "It's going to be cold, but you should probably rest," she says, gesturing to the chair. "We're safe for now."
no subject
"Thanks, Else," she says weekly, averting her gaze at the question. "Yes, um--it was Bro, actually. He found me and carried me inside, and got me patched up."
no subject
In both senses, because as she thinks about him, ice frosts over her hands and she exhales a little too forcefully. "Ah."
And that's all there really is to say on the matter. Or rather, the rest is held back by a bite of the tongue.
no subject
She doesn't want to think about what might have happened. She really doesn't. Her eyes go to Elsa's hands, mouth pressing into a thin, worried line as she watches them frost over. "I'm sure you probably disapprove of me being friends with him, but--he's good. He's a good person, Elsa, I promise."
no subject
In the end, that had all turned out for the better.
"I just think you shouldn't be worrying about romance at a time like this." It's said with a tone of finality, like she honestly expects Anna not to argue.
no subject
But it's the last bit that really gets her, and Anna has to remind herself that she needs to stay sitting. "Excuse me?" She gasps, face already turning pink. "You're telling me not to be thinking about romance." She shakes her head. "I don't believe you, Elsa."
no subject
"And you see where that got me, don't you?" she says, whipping around to give Anna a look. A look that conveys both anger and betrayal, silently asking how could you bring that up?
no subject
She inhales, then exhales, shaky, but determined. "Just please don't deny me something that could make me really happy."
no subject
"Just because you say I'm fine doesn't make it true," Elsa says, her eyebrows furrowing in anger. "You don't get to decide how I feel." She lets out a frustrated sigh, because now Anna is throwing her own happiness out there and it just makes Elsa feel a bit like a jerk. "I'm not trying to deny you anything, Anna, I'm just trying to protect you!"
no subject
God, she wishes this argument was over. She wishes she wasn't trapped between walls of ice, because things are quickly turning sour. So she takes a steadying breath. "Please, Elsa--please. Let's not fight."
no subject
"Fine." Her voice is curt, her arms folding tightly over her chest, before shifting until she's practically hugging herself. "Fine. I'll just sit by and watch you make your mistakes, Anna. It's obviously what you want."
no subject
She almost adds while you freeze me out, but has the good sense to hold her tongue. She doesn't want to say anything that might make Elsa even more upset, after all.
no subject
no subject
She might be panicking, just a little, because this is awkward and her feelings are hurt and she's angry. What is she even supposed to do in a situation like this?
no subject
"Then let them come!" Elsa says, a little angrily. "I can take care of them. I can- I can protect you." There's a long pause, before she deflates a little. "Unless you want to go, I- I know you're... not happy with me right now."
no subject
"I don't want to fight with you anymore, okay? Please."
So very late but B
Nearing where he head the noise, he catches sight of Elsa, her and the frozen aliens that likely attacked her. He remembers Clem mentioning Elsa made the ice castle back in his first arena, but this is his first time seeing her powers up close while knowing she was the one to have done it. Impressive to say the least.
"Take it you won't be needing a hand fighting those off," he says it with good natured humor, waiting for her to notice him and seem at least welcoming before approaching her. He doesn't fear her, not at all, but he's not one to throw caution to the wind in an arena with abilities returned.
I'm also a bit late so it's okay!
She clears her throat and straightens herself up, before looking towards the aliens. "I would say I've taken care of them well enough," she says, shrugging lightly. "But having your help would have made it less... frightening, I'm sure." And the truth is it was very frightening at the time. "Still, I'm not so sure what to do with them now. It seems a little weird to just leave them here, doesn't it?"
no subject
They are definitely taken care of, even if she says she would have been less frightened, she seems to have handled the situation just fine without him. Something he should probably reassure her of, so maybe next time she faces something alone she won't feel as frightened.
"Did quite the bang up job, pretty sure even if I was here you'd have stolen the show," he says it honestly as he moves to tap on the ice encasing one of the aliens. "Yeah, does seem a little silly. Probably scare whoever stumbles across them," an amusing though really.
"Are they frozen all the way through?" Maybe they can shatter them or find an airlock near by.
no subject
"Honestly?" she says, eyebrows furrowing lightly. "I'm not sure. I used a lot of power on them, but I... well." Elsa rubs the back of her neck. "The only time I've ever frozen anyone solid was when I struck their heart with my magic." Her expression darkens a little as she thinks back to Hans, her fists clenching tightly.
2
So, she's been hunting the alien mutts. Of course, one doesn't expect to be stalking the disgusting little worm-necks only to come upon a field of ice-statuary. Elsa's not the only person in the arena with ice-powers, of course, but Shepard won't figure that out for another couple of weeks...
"Elsa?" It echoes among the ice-encased dead and the steely corridors.
no subject
"It's been a while." Elsa gestures to the aliens around them. "And as you might have noticed, I've learned even more control since the last time we saw each other." She sounds pleased with herself, more-so than she has before. "Look what I'm capable of- and it's thanks to you."
no subject
It's like a macabre little forest, the kind you see in vids, with branches like grasping claws and hollows full of snarled teeth. Except, of course, that none of these things have much in the way of spooky eyes to roll-- if they could roll them in this state.
"Wanna see something cool?"
no subject
Her eyebrows raise curiously, before giving her a nod. "Of course!"
no subject
Shepard's answering grin has a lot of teeth in it, power already rolling through her Corona. It's a messy display, but the intention isn't a show of neat focus; this is meant to intimidate, and impress. Lines of force traveling down her arm, and Shepard flicks her hand like throwing a flat stone across a still body of water, skip-skip-skip.
The biotic impulse skips along the hallway much the same way, a skipping avalanche of gravity-shear and force that shatters the snarling ice-statuary into little more than shrapnel and snow. The sound is perfect, low whump-whumps as the air concusses against the walls, punctuated by glass-sharp shattering, and the tinkle of falling ice.
"That's beautiful," Shepard can't help the satisfaction in her voice, "Used to do that all the time. Cryo ammo to freeze 'em, then... Bam. We could make a good team."
no subject
Of course, what does happen is probably what she should've expected, but isn't at all. Elsa can't help but gasp when Shephard does whatever it is that she does to shatter the aliens. It's not anything she's ever seen before, so it isn't anything she has words to describe. Her eyes widen and she watches with an open mouth as they all crumbles to the floor, and she isn't sure if she should be horrified or impressed- maybe a little of both.
They were already dead, she tells herself. There's no reason to be upset, right? It's hard to swallow, but she gets over it as best she can.
"Wow," she lets out. "I- yeah... we could." It's a bit of a power rush to imagine the two of them teaming up, if this is what they could accomplish. "We could protect everyone we love, too."
no subject
And here, though they would be more direct, her enemies wouldn't hesitate just because she was beautiful, or beloved, or powerful.
"That's right," She gave Elsa a nod, firm and proud, "Make 'em think twice before screwing with our people."
no subject
"Exactly!" Elsa agrees, standing up a little straighter, just as proud as Shephard. "So, would you like to stick together for now?" She doesn't really have anyone else, and Shepard is about as good as she's going to get as far as allies go. As far as she's concerned, she can freeze and Shephard can smash. You can't go wrong with that combo.
