There's a starman waiting in the sky [Open]
Who| Clementine and Kenny, Clementine and OTA
What| Clementine in the space arena before she dies, with a thread for Kenny to mercy kill Walker!Clem
Where| The labs, the spaceport
When| backdated to week 1 of the arena
Warnings/Notes| Mentions of child death and zombie children
[Prompt a: the Spaceport]
This arena would be cool if it weren't so deadly. Clementine remembers movies with this kind of thing, then books and comics after the electricity had gone. That the Capitol made this is as ridiculous as ever. When she's in the spaceport Clementine likes to go to the windows and look out at the fake field of stars, though never at the appointed time when those stars arrange themselves into the faces of the dead.
It's dangerous to be out here and Luke would have a fit about her being alone, however briefly, but they still need food and water and there's a lot of places to hide out here, especially for someone as small as she is.
[Prompt b: The Labs]
The three of them, like so many others, chose one of the labs to make their home for the arena. Sometimes the puzzles were difficult to get in or out of the room but the feeling of safety, at least from the mutt's and turrets, was worth the difficulty. Other tributes could still come inside if they could figure it out of course.
Clementine makes a face as she bites into a raw potato and keeps an eye on the door, alone now while Nick and Luke are out. It's not the worst thing she'd ever eaten, not by a long shot, it's still pretty unpleasant though.

She waits until she hears the person step inside and tellingly they don't call out her name which means it's probably not Nick or Luke, so after a deep breath she risks peeking out around the table.
"Brock?"
Definitely not Nick or Luke but someone she thinks is a friend. Clementine pokes her head right round the table after recognising him.

When he hears Clementine -- he hears her before he sees her, which is troubling to him -- he visibly relaxes, stepping away from the door to let it close behind him. Despite the dangerous situation they are all in, he's casual, and he waves a little. "Hey. You by yourself?"

"My friends have gone out looking for supplies." she informs him truthfully. "I'm holding the fort."
That's what Luke had called it when he asked her to stay behind this time. "It's good to see you."

That Clementine has friends she's hanging around with is good, and he's glad. He assumes they're kids her age, but on the chance they aren't, he's a little anxious about it. Not that he doesn't trust her instincts -- he has a feeling she's a better judge of character than him, actually -- but if they happen to walk in here, Brock might have to kill them just on principle. Which would be awkward all around.
"Man, you too," he says, which is a roundabout way of saying he's glad she's not freakin' dead. "Anybody giving you guys trouble, or are you handling it pretty good?"
no subject
"The only trouble we've had so far is from the mutt's. And my friend Nick got electrocuted but he's okay now, mostly." though not for lack of trying on the Gamemaker's part. Clem had thought he was dead for a few moments and it had scared her badly. "I haven't seen many other Tribute's."
no subject
That's worrying, though, and Brock frowns, looking around. "Electrocuted? Is he okay to go out there?"

"Keep an eye on him," Brock says slowly, trying to put this as delicately as possible. "Sometimes if people get shocked like that, it, uh... it can knock a few screws loose. So if he starts acting weird..."
