Mini Arena 1

The mood is strange, even for an arena. Every stylist is different, of course, but this arena has thrown people for a loop, and they adjust to them differently.

25 - 24 - 23

The clothes are simple, and the tribute are loaded up quickly. Obviously the stylist have been informed what to tell them, what warnings to give. That there will be two sounds, one for a murdered death and one for an accidental one.

20 - 19 - 18 - 17 - 16

The platforms lift them up, and they are in a tight ring, all facing outwards, in a courtyard ringed by a tall stone wall. To one side is a ring of weapons laid out, brutal looking things. To the other is a ring of supply bags. The pedestals all sit directly in the middle. And beyond them a series of entrances to the maze beyond.

11- 10 - 9 - 8

They've all been warned, don't step off your pedestal early. They have also been warned to put on a good show. Don't kill yourself off, and make sure not to be in the arena when the time ends, without having won. Or else you might not be coming back.

The sound of the gong plays crystal clear across the opening. Let the games begin.

((OOC-feel free to play out cornucopia here, and then start your own threads just like any other arena. There is still some OOC plotting going around, so I am going to say there are 10 people murdered and the arena lasts 22 hours.))

They've got supplies, they've got weapons -- more than one, it looks like, so if she loses a knife in the maze (or in another tribute) they won't lose the extra protection entirely. It dawns on the Signless that they might actually have a very real chance to survive this, if they're careful and quick.

"Right." He nods, turning slightly on his heel and looking around the various exits. It's hard to tell just by looking at them if any one is any better than the others, but it's not safe to stay in the middle, not when they're on a timer.

"Which way?"

The options are overwhelming for a moment, twelve paths they could take, twelve ways to their possible triumph or their death. She turns blindly, spying the walls of leather, hide, skin. It reminds her of her cave for a moment, the one she had long long ago and that solidifies the decision. She points, glancing at any tributes who might notice her direction, figure out their path before she has time to make it there.

"There-- that way." She grabs at his pack and shoves two knives in, for safe keeping and nudges him in front of her for now. The fight will come from the back, people coming after them. He is safe enough in the front, until whatever is hiding in this maze comes after them.

He lets himself be shoved about, moving in the direction she points once she's behind him. It makes sense, that she'd go for the walls that look familiar. There's precious little that's ever comforting in these arenas, there's no harm in wanting to cling to what's there. Hopefully nothing too bad is down this path.

Occasionally he turns to look, to make sure she's still following him. It's always a relief when she is, even if he logically knows she's quite capable of taking care of herself.

"There," he says, finally, when they're a decent ways in and any noise of the cornucopia and other tributes has died off. "I think we're on our own."

When they're far enough away from the center, she lets herself lean against the wall and breath. Slow deep breaths as she listens, for anything. Water, animals, other tributes. It's quiet here in the maze, too quiet really and that just makes her more nervous.

"So--plan. We don't split up and we keep everything we find in your pack. You stay behind me? Or should you lead." She tries to weigh the threat of tributes behind them against the unknown dangers ahead.

"No--no I'll lead. You watch behind us."
