It's hard to navigate the crowd, Rose wanting to stay on the edge of it for her own safety and comfort but knowing she has to go closer if she wants to find them. But it's hard, Rose still struggling from her time in prison. It's been hard when her own contact there were hard fists doling out punishment and trying to pry out information and looking at the people on the rink makes her feel more panic than she likes and she hates it.

She flinches when Steve touches her, an involuntary reaction that Rose loathes but she hadn't been paying attention. "Steve," she replies, voice softer by a touch, and just to show him it was just her surprise that made her flinch she presses a hand over his, keeping it to her arm as she looks up at him. The smile she makes is slight and it pulls at her brand all the same but it's there and she can't help but reach to touch the side of his jaw, studying his own ruined brand. "You're one to talk. I take it you were involved in that foolishness?"
