His eyes are filmed over just slightly in red, overbright with the effort not to shed tears, but he swallows and stares back at her and nods. "I understand." His voice trembles only a little. "I won't compromise my morals, but. I'll do my best to keep up."

The elevator dings, and on edge as he is, he notices that Venus moves to keep him shielded from whatever comes through the other side of the doors. When the hallway turns out to be empty, he breathes a sigh of relief.

"I'd assume because there weren't guns provided at the Cornucopia. If they're simply metal bullets they require the firing apparatus, right? Without that they wouldn't be much use. ...But if there are bullets, and they were put where everyone is supposed to fight over resources, there must be some way to use them. That's a worrying thought."

He points at an imposing archway. "The weapons displays are in there. I think we may be able to get some protection for ourselves, as well, I just wasn't really thinking straight so I didn't want to linger when there might be other people arming themselves in there."
