[Closed] Is it me, or is it getting a little Blues Brothers in here?
WHO| Bucky Barnes, Natasha Romanova, Steve Rogers, Thor Odinson, Tony Stark
WHAT| Tony found a house tohide raid and the other Avengers slowly gravitate towards him.
WHEN| First day of the Arena.
WHERE| Arena 10
WARNINGS| Nothing out the ordinary for the Avengers?
Tony's first instinct after seeing the houses during the countdown he knew that's where he was going to go, knowing they were going to be far more useful to him than the cornucopia at this point.
Once inside Tony makes a beeline to the garage to see what could be salvageable, also because it would be the sturdiest part of the rundown atomic age homage. He grabs for paint tins, nails and tools that are laying around some of which he can't help but notice how some of it looks like some of it was laying around looking like it was still being used just not this second. Putting everything down so he can take stock he stares at the car for a long moment he contemplates trying to get it to turn over but changes his mind knowing the arena isn't going to let him have it that easy, so instead he opens the hood and yanks out the battery and it's cables, including a pair of jumper cables then he heads to the front door, he coils an exposed wire to the front door connecting it to the battery via the jumpers.
From there Tony cautiously moved through the house, looking to see if there was a back door, finding it he jams a chair under the door. He isn't exactly sure that would hold anyone back, but for now it'll do until he can take stock of the house.
"How dad achieved anything back then." He shakes his head. "Now that's respectable."
As he goes back to poking through things he mentally catalogued everything he could use, which in the kitchen was more than he thought. Though he decided to leave the roast alone in the oven. Something for him to deal with later. He digs into the drawers for some spoons forks and string, then heads back to the garage and starts tying the cutlery to the garage door, so if anyone opened it, he would hopefully hear it if he was in another room.
With that done. Tony gets to making improvised flash bangs and smoke bombs.

He was sure he'd seen Tony dart off into the distance he himself is headed in, but he can't pin point a house. He's sort of been tramping through gardens and peering in windows gracelessly for a good twenty minutes before he happens upon the right house. Not that he knows it, of course. The crunch of leaves and bushes under heavy feet gives him away quickly, but he has his wrench held tightly lest he encounter someone even less friendly than Stark.

"Ho- Boy." Tony groans and he grips onto a smoke can and a small rubber mallet as he slowly backs towards the door to the house. He has had some solid time to work on defensive capabilities but hasn't gotten around to actual offensive creations just yet. Really he thought he would have had a little more time.
no subject
"I mean you no harm." He calls through the door, somehow managing to keep his voice hushed when he does. He begins to twist the handle and push open the door slowly, brow raising when Stark comes into view. "..Hello."
no subject
Tony looks at Thor then casually drops the mallet then goes back to the work bench.
"I'm starting to feel like a cat lady. Picking up strays." He shakes his head as he finishes another smoke bomb, he moves it to one size with the handful of other tins he's repurposed before turning back to Thor.
"If you need." He gestures at Thor. "There's probably something in the kitchen." Tony's never been good about talking about people's actual well being, but for him, this sad attempt at it was progress.

"I had noticed I was not the first to arrive." Steve and Natasha had already inducted them. Funny how they all found each other in the end, there's a small part of him that worries it may lead to trouble, but he dismisses it.
It takes him a moment to realise what he's being told, and a small smile plays at his lips. He raises a brow, seeming incredulous. "And it is edible?"
no subject
"For people practiced in sneaking, they sure do get noticed a lot." Tony says offhandedly, as if just thinking out loud. Which while technically true it's more along the lines of half hearted teasing. He picks up a screw driver and fidgets with it in his hands.
"Well that depends on your feelings on canned fruits, vegetables and mystery tins."
no subject
"Perhaps that's what they want." He observes with a small shrug. "And perhaps I will allow my feelings on those to remain a mystery, for now." He seems a little wary of eating food here willy nilly. "I take it you've eaten already?" He wouldn't use him as a hamster to try the food, would he?
no subject
"You could have a point. Or maybe they know I don't like having dangerous people sneak up on me." He gave a lazy grin. "Not yet, the eating. I'll get round to it eventually I guess. Maybe."
Set it up in the right way, and Tony will be a hamster while thinking it was his idea.

Natasha's perched up on the roof in order to scout any people who pass nearby and to ensure one thing only: that they continue on their path. So far she hasn't had to send anyone off on their way, but there's still a whole day ahead of them.
A whole lot of days. There's no telling how long they'll be stuck in this place for.
"You need to work on being subtle."
no subject
"So I've been told." He gives his big shoulders a roll backward. "Have you claimed this as your residence?"
no subject
Nothing is more awkward than looking down at a godlike figure. Better to be on even ground with one than to try to assert any authority.
"How did you find this place?"
no subject
"Stark. A brief glimpse of his mad dash for safety before I attended to my own business." He gives the wrench a slight shake in his hand. "I was right in my thinking, where there is Stark, others will follow."
no subject
If Thor came to that conclusion, who else might? Natasha's concern is easily betrayed in the way her brows narrow down in concentration. It's possible she'll have to lead a few strangers astray before they discover this place.
no subject
The weight of his wrench in his hand suddenly reminds him of something and he speaks up again. "Did you find anything of use in the bloodbath?"
no subject
"I do not waste my time with obvious traps." Truth be told, she did try to go in, but found an ally who helped her get away. That was of more importance, she decided on in the end.
no subject
"My weapon was a reward for intervening in a fight." He can't help being a little smug about that. "There are worse traps to fall into, I suppose."
no subject
He lets out a sigh of relief at seeing it's Thor.
"Don't touch the door knob. Stark rigged it," the words come with a chuckle, as Steve rests his crossed arms on the frame and leans out the window to smile a little at Thor.
no subject
"Perhaps he is more suited to battle than we gave him credit for." He muses, giving the broken window an appraising look. "Shall I impede upon your home for the evening? I've been told I'm a pleasant house guest." He cooks a mean breakfast, with the right encouragement, but he doubts he'll be frying up anything pleasant for some time.
no subject
"Not planning to stick around after this evening?" He says it with a grin, Steve steps away from the window, giving the frame a pat in invitation. Thor is more than welcome here, even if Steve wouldn't call it his home.
no subject
He steps through the window, glancing around the place before looking back at Steve. "And you are well?" He asks casually, as if he isn't a little concerned for him, just asking for a friend and all that shit.
no subject
Steve gives a considering look at Thor's question, "Well enough. Had to block a sledgehammer aimed for my head, but that's been the worst of it." It's said very nonchalant because well, Steve really doesn't care all that much about it happening. It's just something to note.
"How about you? You look like you're in one piece."
no subject
"I intervened in an assault on an innocent man and he rewarded me with a weapon."
no subject
"I don't know, this kid had a mean swing, could give you a run for your money," he gives a wry smile back before looking at the wrench. His eyebrows go up some at the story. He's glad to hear it, for sure, but he didn't imagine many people would give up a weapon like that - like he can talk really.
"Pretty sure you're supposed to fix things with that, not break them," he's teasing.
no subject
At that taunting comment, he raises a brow, eyes grazing the kitchen before settling on a breadbox. In a most abrupt movement, he raises his wrench and brings it down hard on the poor, old breadbox, smashing it into pieces with almost artful destruction.
"It works."
no subject
Steve claps a little when Thor defeats the breadbox. "You know, I wasn't sure if you were going to win that one, it had you on the ropes," even the display doesn't stop Steve from poking fun.
"How'd you find our little home away from home anyway? Fog isn't making anything easy," Steve had trouble finding it himself. He found it with Bucky's help, so he wonders how Thor found it alone.
