[Closed] Is it me, or is it getting a little Blues Brothers in here?

WHO| Bucky Barnes, Natasha Romanova, Steve Rogers, Thor Odinson, Tony Stark
WHAT| Tony found a house to hide raid and the other Avengers slowly gravitate towards him.
WHEN| First day of the Arena.
WHERE| Arena 10
WARNINGS| Nothing out the ordinary for the Avengers?

Tony's first instinct after seeing the houses during the countdown he knew that's where he was going to go, knowing they were going to be far more useful to him than the cornucopia at this point.

Once inside Tony makes a beeline to the garage to see what could be salvageable, also because it would be the sturdiest part of the rundown atomic age homage. He grabs for paint tins, nails and tools that are laying around some of which he can't help but notice how some of it looks like some of it was laying around looking like it was still being used just not this second. Putting everything down so he can take stock he stares at the car for a long moment he contemplates trying to get it to turn over but changes his mind knowing the arena isn't going to let him have it that easy, so instead he opens the hood and yanks out the battery and it's cables, including a pair of jumper cables then he heads to the front door, he coils an exposed wire to the front door connecting it to the battery via the jumpers.

From there Tony cautiously moved through the house, looking to see if there was a back door, finding it he jams a chair under the door. He isn't exactly sure that would hold anyone back, but for now it'll do until he can take stock of the house.

"How dad achieved anything back then." He shakes his head. "Now that's respectable."

As he goes back to poking through things he mentally catalogued everything he could use, which in the kitchen was more than he thought. Though he decided to leave the roast alone in the oven. Something for him to deal with later. He digs into the drawers for some spoons forks and string, then heads back to the garage and starts tying the cutlery to the garage door, so if anyone opened it, he would hopefully hear it if he was in another room.

With that done. Tony gets to making improvised flash bangs and smoke bombs.

It's been an interesting spin for Thor thus far, but not what he'd call a fruitful one. He'd stepped back from the skirmish of the cornucopia, but he'd been rewarded for his patience and his assistance with a weapon. It's no hammer, but it's certainly more comforting than wandering about empty handed. His mortal sensitivities are bothering him, he grows weary and thirsty much faster than he's used to. He needs a place to sit and be at ease for a while, he'd best find his friends first.

He was sure he'd seen Tony dart off into the distance he himself is headed in, but he can't pin point a house. He's sort of been tramping through gardens and peering in windows gracelessly for a good twenty minutes before he happens upon the right house. Not that he knows it, of course. The crunch of leaves and bushes under heavy feet gives him away quickly, but he has his wrench held tightly lest he encounter someone even less friendly than Stark.

The clatter has Thor tensing already, taking on a defensive stance as he glances around. For all he knows, little ones could be occupying the house, but his grip on the wrench does not lessen when he approaches the garage door.

"I mean you no harm." He calls through the door, somehow managing to keep his voice hushed when he does. He begins to twist the handle and push open the door slowly, brow raising when Stark comes into view. "..Hello."

"The very same." He murmurs at Tony's reaction, only a little ruffled by it. He hadn't precisely expected a warm hug and kind words from him.

"I had noticed I was not the first to arrive." Steve and Natasha had already inducted them. Funny how they all found each other in the end, there's a small part of him that worries it may lead to trouble, but he dismisses it.

It takes him a moment to realise what he's being told, and a small smile plays at his lips. He raises a brow, seeming incredulous. "And it is edible?"

Most people would be relieved to know that Thor is here and on their side. He's a pretty valuable asset, even when he's depowered. Who doesn't want a massive wall of man keeping watch when you're tinkering away in the safety of your garage?

"Perhaps that's what they want." He observes with a small shrug. "And perhaps I will allow my feelings on those to remain a mystery, for now." He seems a little wary of eating food here willy nilly. "I take it you've eaten already?" He wouldn't use him as a hamster to try the food, would he?

Now entering someone even less friendly than Stark.

Natasha's perched up on the roof in order to scout any people who pass nearby and to ensure one thing only: that they continue on their path. So far she hasn't had to send anyone off on their way, but there's still a whole day ahead of them.

A whole lot of days. There's no telling how long they'll be stuck in this place for.

"You need to work on being subtle."

Thor is trying very, very hard to be careful. He's more than used to someone having his back in a dangerous situation, so maybe he isn't exactly as cautious as a super spy. That said, the voice brings him right back to earth, he snaps his head upward to search her out, a small smile playing at his lips when he finds her.

"So I've been told." He gives his big shoulders a roll backward. "Have you claimed this as your residence?"

[personal profile] assassinat 2014-06-05 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't claim any home as my own." She reminds him of what it means to be a spy before she climbs down softly to greet him.

Nothing is more awkward than looking down at a godlike figure. Better to be on even ground with one than to try to assert any authority.

"How did you find this place?"

"A home that is not yours is as good a place as any when the night becomes cold." He observes somberly, remarking upon the chill already starting to creep into the layers of clothing he'd been dressed in. Quite a change from the heat, almost a welcome one.

"Stark. A brief glimpse of his mad dash for safety before I attended to my own business." He gives the wrench a slight shake in his hand. "I was right in my thinking, where there is Stark, others will follow."

[personal profile] assassinat 2014-06-18 10:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Only because we take pity on our weaker ones. Tony can't do much in this arena without his playthings and it's a shame they took them from him."

If Thor came to that conclusion, who else might? Natasha's concern is easily betrayed in the way her brows narrow down in concentration. It's possible she'll have to lead a few strangers astray before they discover this place.

"If all I've been told of him is true, he is not one to yield easily." Of course, nobody else may know that, but they're all here now. They'd be fools to attack a home full of Avengers, but perhaps the thrill of it is part of the allure.

The weight of his wrench in his hand suddenly reminds him of something and he speaks up again. "Did you find anything of use in the bloodbath?"

[personal profile] assassinat 2014-06-26 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
"No." If she had, wouldn't she be armed?

"I do not waste my time with obvious traps." Truth be told, she did try to go in, but found an ally who helped her get away. That was of more importance, she decided on in the end.

[personal profile] worldsaway 2014-07-01 12:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Of course." He just barely quirks a brow. He wonders if he would tell her if she were armed anyway, but he doesn't begrudge her either way. He gives his own wrench a flick in his hand, bemused by it's lightness compared to the hammer.

"My weapon was a reward for intervening in a fight." He can't help being a little smug about that. "There are worse traps to fall into, I suppose."

The noise catches Steve's attention, causing him to slowly and stealthily sneak over to a broken window and look out at who's tromping around. He knows the front door is rigged, but the window is near completely knocked out clean, so it's almost pointless. Still, he figures to defend it if it's someone sketchy.

He lets out a sigh of relief at seeing it's Thor.

"Don't touch the door knob. Stark rigged it," the words come with a chuckle, as Steve rests his crossed arms on the frame and leans out the window to smile a little at Thor.

Thor just barely jolts in surprise at the sudden voice. For someone not sneaking, he hadn't really been prepared to be caught. The shock is brief, of course, the voice is familiar and Steve quickly comes into view. He returns the smile with his own, approaching the window with a laugh softer than his footsteps.

"Perhaps he is more suited to battle than we gave him credit for." He muses, giving the broken window an appraising look. "Shall I impede upon your home for the evening? I've been told I'm a pleasant house guest." He cooks a mean breakfast, with the right encouragement, but he doubts he'll be frying up anything pleasant for some time.

Steve might not say battle, but Stark is very suited to survival. This was just proof of what he suspected from reading the man's file. At least it was reassuring to know.

"Not planning to stick around after this evening?" He says it with a grin, Steve steps away from the window, giving the frame a pat in invitation. Thor is more than welcome here, even if Steve wouldn't call it his home.

"That depends on what the morning brings." He says, a briefly stern expression on his face. It could be anything, for all they know. Fire, water, thousands upon thousands of feral dogs.

He steps through the window, glancing around the place before looking back at Steve. "And you are well?" He asks casually, as if he isn't a little concerned for him, just asking for a friend and all that shit.

"Point taken," yeah, morning could bring anything. Who knows what they had in store for them.

Steve gives a considering look at Thor's question, "Well enough. Had to block a sledgehammer aimed for my head, but that's been the worst of it." It's said very nonchalant because well, Steve really doesn't care all that much about it happening. It's just something to note.

"How about you? You look like you're in one piece."

"You've done well." He seems a funny mix of sarcastic and impressed. "A sledgehammer is not comparable to an invasion, I should hope." He gives him a wry smile before he twirls his wrench in his hand.

"I intervened in an assault on an innocent man and he rewarded me with a weapon."

Steve almost wants to tell him the guy wielding it was remarkably similar to Loki, but decides better of it. Thor's brother is likely a sore spot for the man.

"I don't know, this kid had a mean swing, could give you a run for your money," he gives a wry smile back before looking at the wrench. His eyebrows go up some at the story. He's glad to hear it, for sure, but he didn't imagine many people would give up a weapon like that - like he can talk really.

"Pretty sure you're supposed to fix things with that, not break them," he's teasing.

"Perhaps you should describe them so I may take them under my wing." He chuckles at the idea of adopting some random, murderous child. He'd almost felt pity for the girl he'd sent on her way, she also reminded him just a little of Loki.

At that taunting comment, he raises a brow, eyes grazing the kitchen before settling on a breadbox. In a most abrupt movement, he raises his wrench and brings it down hard on the poor, old breadbox, smashing it into pieces with almost artful destruction.

"It works."

"Blond, teenager, crazy bug eyes, god-complex. Sure the kid would flourish under your teaching," it's deadpan, Steve is pretty sure even Thor would be done with that kid before anything even started. It is amusing to imagine.

Steve claps a little when Thor defeats the breadbox. "You know, I wasn't sure if you were going to win that one, it had you on the ropes," even the display doesn't stop Steve from poking fun.

"How'd you find our little home away from home anyway? Fog isn't making anything easy," Steve had trouble finding it himself. He found it with Bucky's help, so he wonders how Thor found it alone.
